  • Describe the biomechanical structure and function of the human spine
  • Discuss physical consequences of poor biomechanical positioning.
  • Identify how risk assessment can be effective at improving safety when applied to moving and handling.
  • Highlight safe methods of moving objects and general principles of back care.
  • Demonstrate and practice use of patient handling equipment.
