Description
We've designed this course to meet statutory training requirements for HSC workers. The course primarily covers Adult Safeguarding to level 2 on the NIASP framework and incorporates Safeguarding of children to ensure staff compliance in mandatory safeguarding training.
Content includes an overview of legislation and regional safeguarding guidance, along with description of the safeguarding infrastructure and methods of safeguarding. Learners will identify the types of abuse, their indicators, illustrative examples in adults including subtle cases, and an overview of child related cases and procedures for responding to suspected abuse including consequences for the accused and victim..
The course can be adapted to meet the needs of specific organisations in a private client booking.
Course Objectives
- Introduce and define key terms relating to safeguarding
- Signpost key legislation and regional guidance relevant to safeguarding
- Discuss the values, principles & methods of safeguarding adults and children
- Explore the categories of abuse highlighting relevant examples and indicators
- Identify examples of abuse relating to children and distinctions in the signs of such abuses
- Discuss regional & local policy, the safeguarding infrastructure, and arrangements for safeguarding investigations.
- Identify and develop best practice in responding to a potential abuse including the concept of whistleblowing
