We've adapted our clinical observations course to target healthcare assistants wishing to upskill to perform standard observations, neurological observations, blood glucose monitoring and urinalysis. Delegates will learn the basic theory behind each observation including the rationale behind it, and the idea of baseline and normal ranges.
Candidates will be given opportunity to hone their skills through practice taking and recording observations in standard NEWS and Neurological Obs charts.
We will explore the use of bedside diagnostic tests and discuss blood glucose monitoring and urinalysis giving learners the opportunity to practice and record their findings.
The course discusses responses to the data recorded including reporting protocols and how to escalate concerns.
